As a photographer, I’m always searching for locations that tell a story—and Grape Day Park in Escondido is full of them. This park has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. As a child, I spent many afternoons here, playing and exploring, and grabbing a bite at George’s Burger right across the street. It’s funny how certain places stay with you, even as they change over time.

The park itself is a beautiful blend of Escondido’s rich history and modern-day charm. It's adjacent to the stunning City Hall with its iconic fountain, offering a peaceful yet elegant backdrop for photos. And just a short walk away is the California Center for the Arts, where the unique architecture provides an amazing contrast for any session.

Growing up, I remember my dad working at the North County Times Newspaper down the block for over 15 years, so this area always feels like home. What really brings the park to life today are the murals, adding color and energy to the space while reflecting the area’s heritage.

Whether you're capturing family portraits, senior photos, or just looking for a spot that combines history and beauty, Grape Day Park in Escondido is a hidden gem.

Every time I return here, I’m reminded of my roots—and I’m always excited to share this place with others through my lens.
